TYT Mid/Long Distance Runners 2013 Season Update and News

July 24, 2013

Coaching the Mid/Long Distance runners has been a blast this season! We had some new younger runners join the group (Ava, Cowan, Atty, Turner) as well as some new older runners too (Marley, Adam, Nick, Cassie, Lauren). To be a good mid/longer distance runner, you first have to really enjoy running. It is a passion, and our runners have it! Our kids go through some of the toughest workouts on the track and the success has been evident.

It’s hard to mention everyone that ran the mid/long distances as some competed just through Club Meet and others longer. But here were some of the standout athletes that competed through most of the Competitive Meets:

Hunter – qualified for Nationals in the 800 with an impressive time!
Andrew – qualified for Nationals
Lauren P. – qualified for Nationals – awesomeness!
Lauren M.

Jalen (ran the 1500 once at Track City and had a very impressive time – we hope to see you run this more next year!!)

Hannaly – qualified for Nationals

4×800 – this team qualified for Nationals!!
Lauren M

I am so proud of all of our runners! We had a lot of PR’s made throughout the season and those are worth celebrating! I hope that you will all continue to stay conditioned during the fall and winter months and we’ll be ready when next March rolls around. Thanks for great season and the fun memories. See you all soon!!

Junior Olympic National Championships

August 12, 2012

What an amazing experience. Excruciatingly hot weather, and excessive meet scheduling blunders couldn’t keep TYT down. Congrats to Spencer Kuffel and Julian Body for becoming Junior Olympic All-Americans! Spencer placed 7th in the Bantam Boys High Jump, and Julian was a double All-American in the 100m and 200m hurdles placing 6th and 5th respectively.

Great performances and a few PR’s made this a trip I’m sure we’ll all remember fondly.

Congrats to everyone. Can’t wait for next year. Enjoy the pics!
